Getting Started

Preparation

Before starting mass testing on the production line, please ensure the following:

  • The TestQC server is online and reachable from your network.
  • The Windows test station has a stable Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection. Make sure the SSID and password are available.
  • The testing area should be quiet and well-lit for accurate microphone, speaker, and webcam tests.
  • Arrange the devices under test (laptops, all-in-one units, or desktops) and prepare the USB barcode scanner.

Compatibility

This version of TestQC is developed and optimized for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
It supports Windows 10 and newer releases across a wide range of hardware platforms including laptops, all-in-one PCs, and desktops.

Since Windows systems frequently receive driver and hardware updates, it is recommended to keep both Windows and all device drivers up to date.
Doing so ensures stable operation, accurate hardware detection, and consistent testing results.

Standard Operating Procedure

Follow the steps below to perform testing on each device:

  • Launch the TestQC application on the Windows system.
  • Verify component detection in the Device Info List (Component List).
  • Connect to the network (Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
  • Perform the required tests (Keyboard, Dead Pixel, Hard Disk, etc.).
  • Scan or manually enter the barebone Serial Number (SN ID).
  • Submit the test report.
  • Close the application when testing is complete.
Administrator Permissions
Some tests that access hardware devices (such as storage, camera, or system information) may require elevated privileges.
If prompted by Windows User Account Control (UAC), select Yes to grant permission.

Limitation and Disclaimer

The TestQC Windows application is designed to evaluate a wide range of hardware configurations found in laptops, all-in-one PCs, and desktop systems. However, compatibility and performance may vary depending on the availability and version of system drivers. Incomplete or outdated drivers may cause certain components (e.g., sensors, sound devices, or network adapters) to be undetectable or function improperly.

If such issues occur, please ensure that the latest Windows updates and OEM drivers are installed before running any tests. Alternatively, you can use one of the other available versions of this TestQC app :

  • TestQCUSB : The primary version of this TestQC app that runs on Linux as a Live USB. No installation needed.
  • TestQCWeb : A browser-based version that runs directly in any modern web browser and does not depend on local drivers.

These limitations are not caused by TestQC itself. Hardware vendors sometimes delay or restrict driver releases, which can temporarily affect hardware detection. If persistent compatibility issues occur, please report them to the development team for further investigation.
