Video
Intended to test the display screen of the device including display output port using video or pattern source.
- Device with built-in screen display.
- Device with HDMI / Display port output (optional).

The video test will play full-hd videos and it would be best if they were played in full screen. Additionally, connect it into an external display if there is an HDMI/Display output port feature to test the device’s mirroring ability.
This test also features to generate test patterns to either test or calibrate the screen or external monitor. There are several types of test patterns available which will be played sequentially for 10 seconds for each pattern and will infinitely repeated.
The Philips PM5544 Standard Pattern Test is used to calibrate and test TV/video equipment. The displayed pattern provides reference levels of black, white and colour saturation, to which a TV/video equipment settings can be set. Displayed image geometry (image centering, correct proportions of the circle, etc.) will help the technician to precisely set the correct settings adjustment for correction.

The EBU Color bars Standard Pattern Test calibrates TV/video equipment by verifying color, luminance, and signal integrity. The EBU color bars is a television test card used to check if a video signal has been altered by recording or transmission, and what adjustments must be made to bring it back to specification. It is also used for setting a television monitor or receiver to reproduce chrominance and luminance information correctly.

The ITU-R BT.2100 Grayscale Standard Pattern Test verifies grayscale accuracy for HDTV and UHDTV displays, ensuring accurate black, white, and luminance levels.

The Checker-board Standard Pattern Test is useful to calibrates the contrast ratio of TV/video equipment. A high contrast ratio is a desired aspect of any display. It has similarities with dynamic range.

The Color cycle Pattern Test calibrates TV/video equipment by verifying color gamut and smooth color transitions. This is a self made pattern designed specifically for this TestQC.

The EG 1-1990 SMPTE Standard Pattern Test calibrates TV/video equipment by verifying color, luminance, and signal integrity. Although color bars were originally designed to calibrate analog NTSC equipment, they remain widely used in transmission and within modern digital television facilities. In the current context color bars are used to maintain accurate chroma and luminance levels in CRT, LCD, LED, plasma, and other video displays.

Factory Standard Calibration
The pattern test is very useful for technicians in calibrating TV or monitor devices to meet manufacturer standards, especially for old CRT type monitors, but is also still very useful for today’s modern UHDTV type monitors for the same factory standard calibration purposes. In fact, the included pattern test will provide possibility to do precise adjustments to the monitor’s Color and Brightness/Contrast settings to achieve Certified Color Standards.
